Aqaba Airports Company and the National Employment and Training Company Sign Memorandum of Understanding - Aqaba Airports Company, the operator of King Hussein International Airport, and the National Employment and Training Company, an initiative of the Crown Prince Foundation, signed a memorandum of understanding on Wednesday aimed at strengthening cooperation in the field of vocational and technical education and training. This cooperation will contribute to promoting a culture of vocational work and meeting the labor market's needs for qualified Jordanian talent.
Aqaba Airports Company, the operator of King Hussein International Airport, and the National Employment and Training Company, an initiative of the Crown Prince Foundation, signed a memorandum of understanding on Wednesday. The agreement was signed during a ceremony held by the National Employment and Training Company in cooperation with the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) programs, under the patronage of the Chairman of the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority, Shadi Ramzi Majali, and in the presence of the Governor of Aqaba, Ayman Al-Awaisha, the Commissioner for Youth and Tourism at the Authority, Dr. Thabet Al-Nabulsi, and the Director of GIZ in Jordan. The signatories were the CEO of Aqaba Airports Company and Director of King Hussein International Airport, Ramzi Arafat, and the Director of the National Employment and Training Company in Aqaba, Engineer Nour Mubaideen. According to Arafat, the agreement stems from both parties' commitment to unifying efforts in implementing high-quality training programs that meet labor market needs and support employment opportunities. This will be achieved through vocational training programs for the Jordanian workforce, equipping them with high-level skills and competencies to meet the market's demand for highly skilled professionals. The agreement also aims to contribute to reducing unemployment rates by encouraging youth and local communities to pursue vocational careers and implementing specialized vocational training programs in the construction, industrial, logistics, water, agriculture, energy, aviation, and green sectors in the Aqaba Governorate. These programs will keep pace with the evolving demands of the labor market and meet the needs of local and regional labor markets.
Arafat said, “We are delighted with this constructive collaboration, which makes Aqaba Airports Company a partner in the national effort to develop human resources and meet the needs of the Jordanian labor market. This will be achieved by training young people in various vocational trades, in line with the national strategy for human resource and community development, and by raising awareness among youth about the importance of vocational work.”
Arafat emphasized Aqaba Airports Company’s commitment to promoting vocational education in Jordan, creating new opportunities for young people in various professional sectors, and contributing to the development of a generation of qualified professionals according to the highest international standards. He added that the company will dedicate its available resources and specialized personnel to ensure the success of the agreement.
For her part, Engineer Al-Mubaydeen expressed her appreciation for this partnership with one of the most significant investments in Aqaba’s aviation and aerospace industries. She affirmed the national company’s commitment to providing joint media support in areas related to this agreement, including cooperation in marketing and community relations efforts to raise awareness about the training programs, workshops, and new initiatives offered. The aim is to enhance visibility, attract participants, and engage stakeholders through various media channels, including social media, press releases, and community outreach programs. Engineer Mubaideen added that the National Employment and Training Corporation (NETC) always strives to build a partnership with public and private sector institutions, in line with His Majesty's vision of preparing young people to achieve the goals that NETC seeks to realize and implement on the ground, consistent with the national strategy for developing a skilled professional workforce.
The Complex
It is worth noting that the Aqaba National Vocational Training Complex in Jordan is one of the Crown Prince Foundation's programs. It aims to develop and enhance the vocational and technical training sector in Jordan, providing modern and high-quality vocational education and training programs that align with the actual needs of the labor market. The complex operates according to the standards of the National Qualifications Framework and international accreditations.
